You are arriving in Lille and you will be using public transport? Here is a tutorial to help you :

Which public transports can I use in Lille?

In Lille, you can opt for: the bus (which covers the whole metropolis and also connects Lille and the surrounding municipalities), the tramway, the metro, and the V’lille (the famous red bicycle available in the streets of the city).

Is it necessary to take out a subscription and at what price?

If you are planning to use public transport regularly, buying single-use tickets can quickly become very expensive (the cost of a single ticket is 1.65 euros).

The company that manages all the city’s public transport is called Ilevia and the different fares can be consulted on its website.

The prices :

If you are between 4-25 years old and you live in Lille: 25.20 euros for a 10-month subscription or for a permanent subscription and 29.50 euros for an annual subscription.

If you are between 26-64 years old or if you live outside Lille: 59 euros for a monthly subscription and 52 euros for a permanent subscription.

You can find these rates as well as some special rates on Ilevia’s website:

How do I subscribe?

You can buy a subscription on Ilevia’s website or by going directly to one of Ilevia’s reception point.

-First you must create an account on the Ilevia website.

-Then, you have to choose your subscription (by clicking on the link above presenting the different rates) and add it to the shopping cart.

If this is the first time you buy a subscription, you will also have to take into account the cost of the PassPass card (4 euros), which is the card that allows you to use the entire Ilevia network.

-Once payment has been made, you will need to provide (by mail or on the website) some documents depending on the subscription chosen and fill in the following membership form:

-Once you have completed all these steps, you simply have to collect your passpass card (which can be picked up directly at one of the many terminals or at an Ilevia point of sale)

Then start exploring the city!

Where can I consult the timetables of the various transport services?

The metro: During the week, the metro runs from 5.17am to 0.30am at Lille Flandres station. On Saturdays, line 1 runs for an extra hour, with a last departure at 1:30 am from Lille Flandres Station.

The tram : You can consult detailed timetables here

The bus: You can consult the different timetables of each line here

To enable you to plan a trip in advance and be on time, the simplest way is to use the “prepare an itinerary” service on the Ilevia website:
