PRESENTATION OF SOME FAMOUS SCHOOLS IN LILLE

With 51% of its population aged less than 30 and a great number of schools and universities, Lille is well known for its wonderful student life. We thought you might need a little presentation ! 

Engineering schools : 

  • École Centrale de Lille : 

Founded in 1872, the school is part of the 5 oldest engineering schools in France and was a partly founded by Louis Pasteur and Frédéric Kuhlmann. Every year, 30% of the students are international students and more than 15 nationalities are represented.

  • Arts et Métiers : 

Founded in 1780 by the Duke of La Rochefoucauld-Liancourt, the school is of one the oldest French engineering school too. Thanks to its unique networks of 8 campuses spread throughout the country, it is also the largest engineering French school (speaking of enrollment).
Almost one thousand international students join the school each year, but be careful: you need to speak French fluently !

  • HEI (Hautes Études d’Ingénieur) :

Founded in 1885 by the colonel Henri Arnould, the school is implanted in the Vauban quarter. The international aspect is one of the school’s strategy, as students from the whole world come to study here every year, either by doing an exchange or simply by joining their summer school.

Business Schools : 

  • EDHEC (École Des Hautes Études Commerciales Du Nord) :

The school was founded in Lille in 1906 but now has campuses in Lille, Paris, London and Singapore.

It delivers Bachelor’s (BBA) and Master’s degrees in management according to the curriculum followed. As the school is naturally internationally oriented, students from all over the world are present on its campuses.

  • SKEMA (School of Knowledge Economy and Management) :

The school was born from the recent merger between the ESC Lille group and the CERAM group back in 2009.

It also has campuses in Paris, Nice, Raleigh (USA), Suzhou (China), Belo Horizonte (Brazil) and Cape Town (South Africa).

The school is renowned for its international character and welcomes students from all over the world.

Founded in 1964, the school has 2 campus at Paris La Défense and Lille. 45% of the students are international students and 100 nationalities are represented.
