The University of Lille is one of the largest public universities in France.
Created in Douai in 1560 and then moved to Lille in 1896, it has more than 72,000 students, including more than 9,500 international students from 150 different nationalities.
It is a university renowned throughout France for the quality of the education it provides.
The University of Lille is split into five campuses with 23 components (faculties, schools, institutes, departments) and six major fields of teaching:
Arts, Letters, and Languages
Law, economics, and management
Science and technology
Humanities and Social Sciences
In addition to the many fields of teaching offered, the University of Lille is also heavily involved in research in several specialties. The university’s research section, made up of more than 3300 researchers and professors in 62 units, aims to be one of the most visible universities in the world.
It has established many partnerships for this purpose with the CNRS and the Institut Pasteur and other organizations.
